The Mexican consulate who serves Nebraska and Iowa helps Mexican nationals in a variety of ways from healthcare to legal matters.

The office can help register eligible children as dual citizens of the United States and Mexico with proper documentation. Consul Maria Guadalupe Sanchez Salazar recently visited Washington as a guest of the non-profit group Latinos for Washington. Jacqueline Amigon with the non-profit says dual citizenship has benefits including access education, healthcare, and the ability to buy property. She adds the dual citizenship does not impact already established American citizenship. The consulate office is in Omaha, Nebraska, but they do have a mobile consul that travels across the two-state region for easier access to services.
