Description: Washington County Extension and Outreach will be hosting a Start to Farm Group meeting on June 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Michael Vittetoe’s, located at 2630 HWY 92, Washington. ISU Ag Engineer Matt Helmers will kick the meeting off by discussing the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy and how cover crops fit into the strategy. A light meal will be provided. Description: St. Mary’s Church in Riverside is holding a fundraiser pancake breakfast to restore the church on Saturday, June 24th from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Hall Park, in conjunction with Riverside’s Trek Fest Celebration. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for kids 5-10, and free for those under 5. They’ll be serving pancakes, sausage patties, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee, and visit Barb’s famous homemade pie and ice cream booth as well.
