Sigourney’s baseball and softball teams took care of business Wednesday night beating Keota in the area showdown.

The Savage baseball team took advantage of three first inning runs to cruise to the 16-6 win in six innings. Mac Conrad and Brett Striegel led the way offensively, each going three for four from the plate and a pair of RBI. Dustin Haines was on the bump for the Savages giving up four runs on four hits in five innings of work. With the win the Savages improve to 4-1 on the year as the Eagles dropped to 3-2.

On the girls’ side, it was much of the same as Sigourney (5-2) pounced on Keota (0-4) early to capture the 19-0 mercy rule win. The Savages put up crooked numbers in the first two frames grabbing six runs in the first and a massive 13 in the second to put the game out of reach. Autum Barthelman, Kendall Streigle, and Leah Carter all had a productive day at the plate combining for nine hits and six RBI.
