A second thunderstorm warning was issued for western Washington and southern Keokuk Counties at 6:40 p.m., set to expire at 7:15 p.m.

Three members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded. A severe thunderstorm was spotted at 6:40 p.m. in Hedrick, 12 miles north of Ottumwa, moving 50 mph. The storm weakened beyond severe limits and expired at 7:15 p.m. and exited the warned area. However, heavy rain is still expected from this thunderstorm. Had the power gone off, KCII would still be on air with emergency backup generators, listen to KCII for weather updates.
