Cool temperatures carried through from the weekend into Monday and the record low was met.

The record low of 50 degrees was set in 1926 and Monday dipped down to the same mark. The high temperature Monday was 73 degrees. According to the National Weather Service, the cool temperatures are balancing the hot weather that started the month and the average temperature in the first 26 days of June in Washington is 72.3 degrees. The normal average temperature for the same time period is 70 degrees. There is a chance for thunderstorms later this week and temperatures are expected to get back up into the low-80s.
