Authorities have released more details regarding an officer-involved shooting that happened in North English Saturday and left one man dead.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and Williamsburg Police Department, 53-year-old Robin Blaylock of North English was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer that fired the shot was Williamsburg Police Officer Blake Heller. Heller serves as a part time officer for Williamsburg and Marengo, and is employed full time as an Iowa County Deputy Sheriff.

Law enforcement was called to a domestic disturbance involving a gun in the 100 block of South Walnut Street in North English at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday. Williamsburg Police, Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marengo Police Department responded to the scene. An autopsy is being conducted at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.
