Around 10,000 years ago, the last Ice Age ended with the melting of massive ice sheets covering Iowa and much of North America.

Washington County Conservation seeks to take a break from the summer heat and travel back in time with their “Iowa Ice Ages” program. During this family-friendly program they will take a close look at glaciers when they ruled over the Northern Hemisphere, the effects they had on the land and life then, and how their remnants affect us and the land today. These and more topics will be discussed during the program at the Conservation Education Center at Marr Park on Sunday, July 2 at 1 p.m.
