Game on to beat cancer is tying in with superheroes at Washington County’s Relay for Life this Saturday, which will also host a wedding.

Event organizer Deb Tisor shares Angela Freese and her fiance Darryl Nicholson will exchange vows on the bandstand, the couple decided it was a fantastic idea “because her life revolved around cancer and the survival, and the fact of fundraising for cancer, and a way to get more participants, hopefully, to the park.”Also, Tisor believes having the wedding will help inspire others fighting cancer or who have survived treatments, “It’s just the fact that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel for us. That anything can happen. Marriage can happen. Babies can happen for cancer survivors. It’s just keeping the hope alive that the cure is soon.” Relay for Life will be held Saturday around Central Park in downtown Washington from noon to 10 p.m. It includes a silent auction, dessert auction, live auction, and a survivor and caregiver ceremony.
