After another successful season for the Columbus Community boys’ soccer team, plenty of individuals were recognized as part of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference All-Conference teams.

Seniors Eric Cantarero and Ruben Paz headline the action for the Wildcats, each being awarded a first team honor. Cantarero was a huge offensive threat for the Wildcats scoring a north division leading 21 goals on the year, and second in assists with 10. Paz was an all-around player for Columbus as his 12 goals on the year were fourth in the division. As a defender, Paz was a big reason why the Wildcats allowed the least amount of goals in the north division.

Kevin Rodriguez and Brayan Solis have promising futures with the Wildcats as they received second team honors. Rodriguez as a midfielder recorded a goal and three assists on the year, as Solis was a key defender for the talented group. Honorable mention for the Wildcats was Jacob Tiffany with three goals on the season and Nick Hernandez as a defender.

The Wildcats finished the season 11-6 reaching the sub-state final, losing to Solon.
