The Winfield-Mt. Union baseball and softball teams take it to the diamond today as they each travel to tournaments.

The softball squad travels to West Liberty as part of the four-team tournament. The Wolves are set to play the Comets (14-9) in game one and they look to rebound from a 10-1 defeat to Pekin on Thursday. Hannah Mathews leads the Wolves offensively with a .341 BA and 10 RBI. Madie Anderson’s 2.01 ERA is third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

For the boys, the Wolves travel to Wapello in their four-team tournament. The Wolves were last in action on Thursday when they fell to Pekin 14-1. Kleyton Benedict will look to jumpstart the team as he holds a 4.71 ERA on the bump and .364 BA at the plate. The Indians (10-8) are led offensively by Trace Howard with a .482 BA.

Both tournaments get started this morning at West Liberty and Wapello High School.
