The Winfield-Mt. Union baseball and softball teams each lost a pair of tournament games on Saturday.

The baseball team traveled to Wapello where they lost to the Indians 3-1 and West Liberty 4-0. Quality pitching by the Wolves kept them in each contest. Kary Stalder went six innings on the mound in game one and only gave up one run on six hits. Kleyton Benedict followed that up with going six strong innings in game two, giving up one run on two hits. Stalder also went 1-for-2 at the plate and recorded the only RBI on the day for the Wolves.

The softball team traveled to West Liberty where they lost to the Comets 11-0 and West Burlington 12-2. Madie Anderson pitched against the Comets and went five innings giving up six earned runs on nine hits. Kyndal Townsley, Kara Wade, Liana Sweezer, Hannah Buffington, and Lauren Jamsion recorded the five hits for the Wolves.

With the losses, the baseball team fell to 2-15 on the season, as the softball team went to 6-12. Both teams get back on the diamond tonight when they travel to Louisa-Muscatine.
