A trio of Winfield-Mt. Union baseball players has been recognized for their play this season by being named a part of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference All Conference teams.

Senior Kleyton Benedict was awarded second team all conference honors in the outfield for the second straight year. Benedict was a key part to the Wolves’ offense, as he led the team with a .381 batting average and eight RBI on the season. He racked up 24 hits and six walks to lead to his .435 on base percentage. The speedy Benedict was always a threat on the base paths, leading the team in steals with 10 in 12 attempts. He also was the team’s ace on the bump, leading the team with a 3.80 ERA in 35 innings of work.

Senior Cary Stalder was named honorable mention for the Wolves. He was right behind Benedict for batting average with .377 and 23 hits on the year. Stalder knocked in eight runs and also had a 5.80 ERA in 35 innings on the bump.

B.J. Rodgers also received an honorable mention for the conference. The junior managed to reach base often, racking up a .358 on base percentage and led the team in runs scored with 11. He showed a keen eye at the plate leading the team in walks with 10 and he stole eight bases on the year.

The Wolves went 3-20 this past season and lose Benedict, Stalder, Austin Lee, and Brayden Bradley to graduation.
