Scattered thunderstorms across eastern Iowa may produce severe weather today.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk this evening and into the early morning hours Thursday. A slight risk means scattered severe storms are possible with short-lived, isolated intense storms possible. There is a possibility of flash flooding, as the conditions may be capable of producing heavy rain. A flash flood watch is in effect from 4 p.m. today through Thursday morning for the entire KCII-listening area.

Listen to KCII for weather updates and our Severe Weather Action Team will go live on the air with up-to-the-minute information if any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued for Washington County.
