Construction has begun on the Lone Tree Community Wellness Center.

On June 27 former Superintendent Michael Reeves, Superintendent Ken Crawford, school board member Christina Magruder, and Lone Tree Mayor Sandy Flake gathered at the site of the future wellness center to commemorate the project. Contractor McComas Lacina officially broke ground on June 19 after the project was awarded a $265,000 Enhance Iowa grant from the Iowa Economic Development board. Construction on the $3.4 million center is expected to be complete by the summer of 2018. The 21,000 square-foot facility will include a gymnasium, fitness center, indoor track, and meeting space.
