A Democrat who would like to be considered on the ticket for governor of Iowa in 2018 is visiting Washington Wednesday.

John Norris is on his six-day 22 stop sweep across Iowa to meet voters. He is a fifth-generation Iowan originally from Montgomery County and has previously served as the State Director of the Iowa Farm Unity Coalition. He also owned and operated the Old Hotel restaurant in Greenfield. More recently, Norris was chief of staff for former Governor Tom Vilsack, chaired the Iowa Utilities Board, was chief of staff at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and was a commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Wednesday Norris will be at Dodici’s Shop at 9:45 a.m., the event is open to the public.
