The Washington Demon baseball team saw their postseason run come to an end Monday night at Dick Sojka Memorial Field, falling to the No. 2 ranked Davenport Assumption Knights by a 12-0 score in five innings.

Assumption scored twice in the first and second innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Knights big inning came in the third when they scored five runs, sending 10 men to the plate with the big blow a Justus Burke three run homer. Assumption finished scoring with three more in the fourth inning on a pair of home runs, one from Tavian Gillette and another from Burke. That was all Assumption starter Trenton Wallace would need as he shut down the Washington offense in the contest, throwing a no-hitter through five innings and allowing one base runner in the tilt, walking Bryce Craff with one down in the fourth.

The Demons had eight seniors play their final game in a Washington uniform including Zach Londberg, Ryan Loy, Noah Enfield, Michael Gier, Bryce Craff, Collin Zear, Dakota Kron, and Aaron Vittetoe. The Demons end their year at 18-16. Assumption improves to 37-5 and will take on Fairfield Wednesday, who was a 9-4 winner over Keokuk Monday night.
