A former state legislator who represented Washington County has been appointed to a state judicial commission.

Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Sandra Greiner of Washington to the District 8 Judicial Nomination Commission. The commission has eight commissioners elected by lawyers and eight selected by the governor. There is also a chair who is the senior justice of the Iowa Supreme Court other than the chief justice. Griener’s appointment is a six-year term. She was formerly the state senator for District 45 and a state representative for the 89th District.
