The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team is a little more than halfway to a district championship game appearance as they wait during the day Wednesday to resume a weather postponed second round playoff game in Iowa City.

Tuesday night, the Golden Hawks held a 2-0 lead over West Burlington in the bottom of the fourth inning at Regina High School when tornado sirens sounded for a warning that was issued for Johnson County. After the athletes and audience were moved to the gym, the weather persisted for the next 90 minutes, continuing the delay and ultimately making field conditions unplayable.

The game will resume this afternoon from the point where it was initially delayed, the bottom of the fourth inning with no one out, a West Burlington runner on first base and Mid-Prairie holding a 2-0 lead. You can hear the conclusion live with the Washington HyVee pregame show at 4:30 and first pitch at 5PM on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and KCIIradio.com.
