The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team plays host to the Columbus Wildcats Saturday in the first round of the class 2A district tournament in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie enters the night with an overall record of 14-14. In their last action they were swept in a doubleheader by the Wilton Beavers 13-6 and 14-3 on Wednesday. Jacob Leonard had a combined three hits to lead the Golden Hawks. Leonard leads the Golden Hawks this year at the plate hitting .346. On the mound Brad Tornow is 5-3 with a 1.83ERA in 42 innings of work.

Columbus enters tonight with an overall record of 1-18. Their lone victory came June 6th against Danville by a 15-0 score. In their last game they beaten by Cardinal of Eldon 9-3. On the season, the Wildcats are led by Evan Rees and his .464 average. Rees is also the leader on the mound, working 36 innings with a 1-6 overall record and 5.06 ERA.
