Over 1,000 tenderloin sandwiches were sold to help benefit the family of Russ Zieglowsky.
On Thursday, the Washington Hy-Vee held the fundraiser for the 32-year employee who passed away after a white-water rafting accident in Colorado earlier this summer. Each tenderloin was sold for $3 and $2 of each went back to the family. Store manage PJ Hare told KCII that from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. all three fryers in their kitchen were full cooking tenderloins and they had to grab extra buns from inside the store as they had planned for about 900. Final tabulations are still being added up, but over $2,000 was raised.
