A representative from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions had nothing but positive reviews of the 2017 Washington County Fair.

Director of Education and Member Services for IAFE Lori Hart spent an afternoon on the Washington County Fairgrounds and saw multiple exhibits, 4-H projects, and livestock. Speaking of her time in Washington Hart said, “I was extremely impressed by the Washington County Fair. I attend many fairs across the United States and have spent some time at the Iowa fairs as well. Just spending an afternoon with the folks there, Washington County has got a fantastic fair.” She also shared what makes a successful fair, “Every fair has its own personality. I think the thing we noticed, and I looked at, is it’s got a great balance. You continue with the youth and the agriculture. There’s commercial activity taking place, as well as entertainment. Those three things alone make for a strong fair.”
