The KCII Severe Weather Action Team went on the air with live coverage just before 4 p.m. on Friday for a severe thunderstorm warning that was issued for southeastern Iowa, Johnson and extreme northeastern Washington Counties. The storm included radar indicated threats of golf ball sized hail and 70 mile per hour winds. Five members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team responded to bring live coverage. If the power had gone out, our coverage would have continued with emergency back up generators. The one to count on for up to the minute severe weather coverage is AM and FM KCII.
