What do a dragon, flamingo and giraffe all have in common?

They’re all featured in an art project aiming to raise money for PAWS and More animal shelter in Washington. The LET’s Center for the Creative and Healing Arts is partnering with PAWS and More to raise funds with their third annual summer art project transforming water softener tubes. The tubes become the canvas for locals to make masterpieces. Isabella Santoro with LET’s says it’s a way to reuse and beautify a common object, that would likely otherwise end up in a landfill.

Tubes must be turned in by July 7th. The finished artwork will be on display around the Washington square July 14-29th. On July 29th the animal-themed tubes will be auctioned off at noon at the Central Park bandstand with a portion of the proceeds going to PAWS.
