More than half of Iowa is now experiencing drought conditions.

Currently, 22.24% of Iowa is in moderate drought and just over 58% is abnormally dry. The southwestern half of the state is nearly all impacted by drought conditions with a line of moderate drought stretching from the northwest corner down to the southeast corner of the state. At this time, the southwest half of Washington County is abnormally dry. Nearly all of Henry and Jefferson Counties are in moderate drought and sections of Louisa and Keokuk are both abnormally dry and in moderate drought.
