Plenty of Lone Tree baseball players were recognized for their play this season as six members were named to the Southeast Iowa Super Conference All Conference teams.

Receiving first team honors for the Lions was Ross Swinton as a pitcher and Jovonte Squiers as an outfielder. As the ace hurler, Swinton posted a 2.02 ERA in 59 innings, second-best in the conference. He also led the league with 72 strikeouts and a minuscule opponent batting average of .143. The multi-sport standout Squiers finished his high school career with a .468 batting average and 19 RBI. The senior showed his track speed on the base paths, as he was second in the league with 28 stolen bases.

Placed on the second team was Avery Knock and Bryce Houser. Knock took the conference by storm in his sophomore campaign, as he led the league with a .512 batting average and racked up 25 RBI. Houser, also a sophomore, showed his abilities by leading the league with 35 RBI and showed some power with six home runs on the year.

Rounding out the postseason awards for the Lions are seniors Dawson Swails and Michael Schmidt being awarded honorable mentions. Swails was third on the team in batting average with .351 and knocked in 23 RBI. Schmidt managed a .304 batting average with 12 RBI and seven extra base hits.

Lone Tree finished their 2017 season with a record of 16-11 and loses five players to graduation.
