Six bids were received for a Washington County road project estimated to cost $900,000.

At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained the work will be grinding projects on G36 north of Washington from Highway 1 to Orange Avenue, and W47 from Wayland to Coppock. Crews will improve the rides on the roads, repair the concrete, and extend the life of the existing pavement. The supervisors approved awarding the project to Cedar Falls Construction Company, Inc., for $892,973.25. The highest bid came in above the estimate by about $173,000.
