Another football season is upon us and that means powerhouse Sigourney-Keota will look to reload for another successful year.

The Cobras eye their fourth consecutive trip to the state playoffs and they are coming off a year where they went 8-2 and lost to Pella Christian in the first round of the postseason. The Cobras will have to fill the void at the skills position losing their top rusher with 1,509 yards and top receiver with 428 yards Avery Moore to graduation. Carson Crawford will look to fit right in as he established himself as a great compliment to Moore last year with 708 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns. Luke Greiner returns for his third year as the play caller for the Cobras, racking up 531 yards through the air and 871 yards rushing in 2016. Defensively, Sigourney-Keota will have to replace their top five tacklers from a year ago. Crawford will be a top returner at linebacker racking up 27 tackles and a pair of sacks last season.

The Cobras kick off their 2017 campaign August 25th hosting Pekin.
