The Washington baseball team had their annual end of season banquet last week and five players were recognized with team awards.

Michael Gier and Ryan Loy received the silver slugger awards given to the team’s best hitters. Gier was a consistent player in the leadoff position posting a .337 batting average with 19 RBI, and also stole a team best 15 bases. Loy led the team in batting average with .360 and knocked in 17 runs.

Collin Zear and Jacob Hall received the Cy-Young award given to the best pitchers. The pair was a great one-two punch on the mound with a combined 2.30 ERA in 90 innings of work. The Demons had plenty of pitching depth as seven players were on the bump for at least 15 innings.

Inspirational Leader was given to Aaron Vittetoe. The senior managed a .292 batting average and was a reliable defensive player at first base. Noah Enfield received the Golden Glove Award given to the best defender. Enfield covered a lot of ground in centerfield and threw out four base runners on the season. Rounding out the awards was Kole Hinrichsen receiving Newcomer of the Year Award. He made his presence known on the bump recording a 3.73 ERA in 30 innings.
