While the scrimmage took less than an hour it might have felt a lot longer for the Muscatine football team as the Demons dominated on both sides of the ball against the 4A group.

In a format where both teams had the ball for three sets of 12 plays the Demons were efficient with that time. There was no scoring in the annual Gatorade scrimmage but the Demons marched right down the field four different times that resulted in a touchdown. Sitting all-star quarterback Ryan Reighard for precautionary reasons, Cade Hennigan had a big night filling the spot and leading three scoring drives. He showed off his arm with a 60 yard bomb to Dalton Myers and then later the duo connected one more time from five yards out for a score. Hennigan showed his running abilities as well by capping off the night with a rushing touchdown  of five yards. Jack Redlinger scored the other touchdown on a 53 yard rush on the fourth play from scrimmage. With everything working right for the offense, it was much of the same for the defense. They shutout the Muskies not allowing them to cross midfield. Luke Turner highlighted the night with an interception and Tanner Murphy was everywhere at the linebacker position racking up five tackles in the limited action.

The Demons officially kick off their season Friday hosting Albia in the annual Heroes game.
