Forcing to play young in 2016 the WACO football team will look to reap the benefits this year as they bring back an experienced bunch on both sides of the ball. This will be WACO’s second season of eight-man football.

Last season WACO went 3-6 with their most decisive win coming against Tri-County, 74-12. Wyatt Harbison will return under center for the Warriors completing 48% of his passes last year for 553 yards and 10 touchdowns. Colton Horak had a breakout sophomore campaign rushing for a team-best 1,131 yards and 13 touchdowns. The junior could be a key versatile player for the Warriors as he also racked up 550 yards of receiving. Seniors Jason Sammons and Cody Crawford will carry the load upfront as the two returning starters on the line. On the defensive side WACO will be in good hands with Harbison and Horak returning as the top two tacklers from a year ago with 110 combined.

WACO will kick off their 2017 campaign on Thursday night hosting HLV.
