Those interested in serving on a city council will have from August 28th to September 21st to file.

All of those who turn in the paperwork and qualify will then be placed on the ballot. In the City of Washington there will be four on the ballot including the mayor’s seat, wards two and four, and the at-large seat currently held by Kathy Salazar. The current mayor of Washington is Sandra Johnson. Jaron Rosien is the Ward 4 councilman, and Steven Gault serves Ward 2 after filling a vacancy left when Russ Zieglowsky moved out of the ward last summer. Each position is a four-year term.
