The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football program wrapped up their annual camp Thursday night.
The camp, organized by Mid-Prairie head football coach Pete Cavanagh, his staff and high school athlete volunteers had two sessions this year with fifth through eighth grade participating on the afternoons of July 31st through August 3rd while the freshman through varsity hawks were on the practice field later in the evening. The camp consisted of drills, fundamental work, competitions and more. The Mid-Prairie varsity program will now prepare for the upcoming regular season with the fall sports kickoff scrimmage against Iowa City Regina scheduled for August 18th at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman and the official season opener August 25th at Louisa-Muscatine.
