The postseason awards keep rolling in for the Highland softball team as four players were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA) All State teams.

Kelsey Hora capped off her remarkable high school sports career being named to the first team. Hora has already seen plenty of awards come her way including receiving the player of the year for the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. The versatile senior was in the top 10 in many offensive categories in the state including batting average with .495, on base percentage with .563, and stolen bases with 41. She was also one of the best defensive players in the state, as she covered a lot of ground in centerfield and did not record an error all year.

While Hora is a senior who will be missed, the Huskies showcased a promising future as they managed four sophomores to be named honorable mentions in the state. Megan Hoenig was the ace for the Huskies in the circle managing a 2.53 ERA in 116 innings of work on the year. Sarah Schneider was a key player offensively with a .438 batting average and eight runs batted in. Abbie Miller showed some pop with four home runs and a team-best 41 RBI. Aly Stokes rounded out the all-state awards batting .436 and knocking in 32 runs.
