Iowa County Woman Dies in I-80 Wreck, Driver Charged with Vehicular Homicide

An Iowa County woman died in a two-vehicle wreck early Sunday in Poweshiek County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 1:59 a.m. a semi truck driven by 52-year-old Ramiz Mustafic of West Valley, Utah, was on the shoulder of I-80, had re-entered the roadway, and was accelerating to the speed limit when it was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram. The Ram was driven by 36-year-old Jesus Alfredo Belez of Marengo. A passenger of the pick-up truck, 37-year-old Amy Renee Richard of Marengo, died.

Belez was charged with operating while intoxicated vehicular homicide. Belez was taken to the Poweshiek County Jail.
