Southeast Iowa’s corn and soybeans remain behind the five-year average.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 41% of corn in southeast Iowa has reached the dent stage while the five-year average is 50%. Corn across the state is eight days behind last year and four days behind average. Corn is rated at 10% excellent, 50% good, 28% fair, and 12% poor to very poor.

In southeast Iowa, 86% of soybeans have set pods behind the five-year average of 93%. Soybeans in Iowa are rated at nine percent excellent, 51% good, 28% fair, and 12% poor to very poor.
