The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team had a resurgent season in 2017. One reason was the strength of the pitching staff.

Iowa Mennonite finished 10th in class 1A in team ERA, ending the year with a 1.88 ERA as a complete staff. Blake Bontrager finished the year with an ERA of 1.13, best in the Southeast Iowa Superconference and ninth best in 1A among pitchers with at least 35 innings of work. Drake Brezina also finished with a sub two ERA at 1.91 and a team best four wins. His 61 strike outs were fourth most in the Superconference. Cole Yoder finished the year with a perfect 3-0 record on the hill. IMS ended the season with a 14-10 overall record, falling in the substate round of the playoffs.
