The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team ended the 2017 season with a 14-10 overall record.

They finished at 8-8 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference, in a tie for eighth. Their best stretch of the season came late, winning five of six during a playoff run that saw them capture the district championship.

Offensively, IMS was 11th in the Superconference, hitting .270 as a team with a .394 on base percentage. Drake Brezina led IMS at the plate hitting .402, and slugging .671, 10th in the conference. His 26 RBI were seventh most.

The IMS pitching staff was one of the best in the state, finishing second in the Superconference and 10th in class 1A with a 1.88 team ERA, allowing just 41 earned runs all season. Brezina led IMS on the hill with his team high four wins. He struck out 61 batters on the campaign, fourth most in the league. Blake Bontrager led the Southeast Iowa Superconference with a 1.13 ERA for those who threw 30 innings or more. Cole Yoder finished the season with a perfect 3-0 record and a 2.75 ERA.

IMS had three players Brezina, Nick Yutzy and Bontrager named to the All-Southeast Iowa Superconference team.

IMS ended their season in the substate round of the class 1A playoffs.
