The Iowa Mennonite School softball team wrapped up a 2017 season that saw them finish with a 6-12 overall record.

The best stretch of the year for IMS came June 16th through the 20th when they put together a season best three game winning streak with victories over Lone Tree, Cardinal and Danville. Offensively, IMS hit .259 as a team, 13th out of 15 teams in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. As a pitching staff they finished seventh in the conference with a 4.53 ERA. They allowed just 75 earned runs, second fewest in the league.

Individually, Iowa Mennonite was led at the plate by Avery Blauvelt who hit .475 on the season, fifth best in the Superconference with a team best 14 RBI. In the circle, Hannah Harris threw 111 innings with an ERA of 4.21, seventh in the conference for pitchers with more than 100 innings thrown.

IMS was represented in all-conference awards by second teamer Rubye Ney with Calli Shaw and Blauvelt as honorable mentions. IMS will lose Shaw to graduation. The IMS softball team ended their season in the first round of the class 1A regional tournament falling at HLV.
