The Iowa Mennonite School volleyball team opens 2017 tonight when they travel to the Fairfield Tournament.

IMS is coming off of a 10-17 season in 2016 where they finished 3-5 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. IMS returns key weapons from last year including kills leader Mia Graber, who ended her freshman year with 117. To go along with Graber offensively IMS returns Suzanna Yoder, Avery Blauvelt and Rubye Ney who finished second, third and fourth respectively on the team in total kills. Defensively, IMS returns their top three in digs from a season ago in Rachel Miller, Suzanna Yoder and Avery Blauvelt who combined for 731 last year. Iowa Mennonite will look to replace lone senior Alijah Beatty who finished best on the team and fourth in the Superconference with 328 assists.

IMS will be joined tonight in Fairfield by Albia, Eddyville-Blakesburg and the home-standing Trojans. Action begins tonight at 5:45p.m. at Fairfield High School.
