Keota-based Wooden Wheel Vineyards placed in gold, silver, and bronze in the Iowa State Fair Commercial Wine competition.

Judged prior to the State Fair, Wooden Wheel Vineyards was awarded gold with their McCulley’s red dessert wine. They placed silver twice with their Charity Mae white wine and Full Bore red wine. They also received bronze twice with their Mountain Man red wine and Zoom rosé. A gold award means the wine is one you would be “proud to take to a dinner party.” A silver award denotes a wine that you would be “proud to serve to friends in your home”, and a bronze award signifies a wine that a person “will enjoy drinking at home”.
