Lone Tree (1-0) picked up right where they left off last season by winning their opener against Central City (0-1) 26-18 Thursday.

Despite a lot of inexperienced skill position players, the Lion rushing attack managed 258 yards on the ground. Bryce Houser was a bruiser for the Lions, carrying the rock 27 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Brock Smith was efficient with his six carries for 52 yards and a touchdown. Harmon Miller looked solid in his debut under center finding the end zone on the ground and went 6-for-11 through the air for 34 yards.

Pegged as one of the most dynamic rushing attacks in 8-man, the Lion defense kept the Wildcats in check, limiting them to 132 yards.  Kyle Marsh had the lone rushing touchdown for Central City on a seven-yard run. The Wildcats did find success through the air with a pair of sixty-yard bombs that saw pay dirt.

The Lions will look to continue the winning trend next week when they travel to Tri-County.
