The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team finished 2017 with a 12-24 overall record. The Golden Hawks were 8-10, fifth place in the River Valley Conference South division.
The Golden Hawks hit .322 as a team, fifth in the conference. Mid-Prairie’s offense was predicated on power, finishing second in the league with a .481 slugging percentage and leading the conference with 13 home runs. The Golden Hawks were also second in scoring with 123 runs, averaging seven runs per game.
The Golden Hawk pitching staff finished with a 4.81 team ERA, sixth in the league. Mid-Prairie surrendered 85 earned runs most in the RVC. Tayler Murphy led the Golden Hawks at the plate hitting .369 as a team. Abby Tornow, Kylee Kos, Jaselyn Robertson and Kathryn Conway shared the team lead with 16 RBI each. In the circle, Cassidy Rourke worked 173 innings with a 4.36 ERA. She compiled an 11-14 overall record. Tornow and Kos received all River Valley Conference accolades.
Mid-Prairie was eliminated in the first round of the class 3A regional tournament.
