A Sigourney man has been arrested and charged with second degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony.

Donald Dean Herr II was arrested on August 4 by Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) agents and Iowa State Patrol troopers. In March 2016, DCI Special Agents began an investigation of an alleged sexual assault involving Herr, after a Keokuk County female resident said that Herr sexually assaulted her in March of 2016. On August 4, the Keokuk County District Court found there was probable cause for an arrest warrant to be issued for Herr. Herr was transported to the Washington County Jail. If convicted, Herr could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
