Teenager Bicycling Killed When Hit by Car

A teenager riding a bicycle died when hit by a car in Louisa County Wednesday evening.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on G44X, west of G Avenue, south of Fruitland. A Ford Taurus driven by 26-year-old Alexander Cortes-Wolfe of Wapello was westbound and struck 14-year-old Raeanna M. Reynolds of Muscatine. Reynolds was also westbound; she and the bicycle ended up in the north ditch. Letts Ambulance transported Reynolds to the Muscatine Hospital, but she died.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Letts Ambulance, and Grandview Fire Department assisted at the scene.
