Lightning, thunder, and rain greeted people in the KCII-listening area Monday morning.

Over the course of the day Washington received a total of one inch of precipitation. According to the National Weather Service, normal precipitation for Washington the first three weeks of August is 3.04 inches and so far we’ve observed 2.82 inches of rain.

Temperatures this month have been below normal. The average temperature is normally 73.1 degrees and this August it has been 68.9 degrees. The rest of the week daily temperatures are expected to have highs in the mid-70s and lows in the mid-50s. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
