Keota Unlimited has been working on the Kewash Nature Trailhead project and downtown improvements for the City of Keota.
On August 11, B & L Concrete poured concrete in the driveway and parking area of the trailhead. Melinda Eakins of Keota Unlimited says the parking lot will be closed for two weeks to let the concrete cure. This project was funded by a REAP grant from the Iowa DNR that Keota Unlimited received in 2015. The next step is to install lights in the parking area. Keota Unlimited is also in the process of installing three trash receptacles to replace two hanging trash baskets on Broadway Avenue, which were funded by a Washington County Riverboat Foundation mini grant of $2000.
