Two people were found on a train in Washington Wednesday morning.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 9:42 a.m. the two people were located east of North 12th on the tracks riding a train. Police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and the two people carrying duffel bags ran south into a cornfield. They were found by police walking along Highway 92 in town. Local authorities contacted the railroad police and the two subjects were given a ride to Muscatine. The names of those involved were not released.
