In 2015, about 1,600 children died due to SIDS and a walk is being held in Washington to benefit the Iowa SIDS Foundation.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, SIDS is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and is the death of an infant less than one year of age that cannot be explained after a thorough investigation is conducted. SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants between one-month and 12-months-old. The Walk for the Future is being held at Sunset Park in Washington at 9:30 a.m. August 26th. Funds raised will be used to provide bereavement support to families, as well as safe sleep education to Iowa parents, healthcare, and childcare providers. For registration information click here.
