MMS Consultants gave an update on their street projects to the Riverside City Council Monday night.

Glen Meisner of MMS said there is an estimated three weeks left of the Washburn and 2nd Streets project to finish concrete work, install a railing, and sodding. Meisner also gave updates on other individual sidewalk projects. Meisner mentioned that DNR has expressed a complaint about a dirt pile the contractors have built in a floodplain area in Hall Park. MMS Consultants has contacted DNR about requesting a permit to allow the dirt pile, but has not yet heard back from them. Meisner suggests that if it is feasible the city apply for a permit for the pile, but if it is costly and time consuming, Meisner recommends hauling the pile to another location. As of Monday’s meeting the Washburn and 2nd Streets project is stated to be 79% completed, and the council moved 4-0 to pay $262,725.29 to Dave Schmitt Construction.
