Area 4-H students who found success last month at the Washington County Fair are preparing their projects and livestock for a trip to Des Moines.
The Iowa State Fair begins Thursday and Washington County be represented with livestock and non-livestock projects. This year’s Washington County Fair Queen Makenzi Marek will take part in the state fair queen contest, and sends well wishes, “Good luck to them, because it’s awesome and it’s so great to see everyone at the fair.” Marek is helping her sister, who will stand in her place in the showring at the fair, prepare pigs by walking them, cleaning the animals, and cleaning their pins. The Iowa State Fair will be held August 10-20th in Des Moines.

Washington County Farm Bureau sponsored several plaques in the area of Ag and Sciences.
